Introducing Perunika Trio

Written By: Ky Junkins

Editor's Review:

Describing whom this album would appeal to is somewhat difficult. These three Bulgarian women of Macedonian descent are quite talented, producing powerful a capella melodies in highly polished Bulgarian. All this writer can say is the music seems like it would be pouring gently forth from the bedroom of a young woman whose bookshelf is crowded with fantasy novels, dragon statues, crystals and incense burners. The songs are definitely relaxing—the absence of over-stimulating electronica allows one to appreciate the silent moments between graceful notes, and the inclusion of English lyrical translations are a plus for true fans. If you know someone who’s into seriously chilling, they might dig these tunes.
