First off, never in my life have I heard the phrase "suck my cock/dick" as many times as I did during the four-hour span of this show. Not saying that's a bad thing, I am just saying.

So I enter the building, to hear none other than the deep voice of Mr. Willis himself. My first sight of Wesley Willis was not what I thought it would be. My man is pushing 400 pounds; add that to his towering height and his case of schizophrenia, and I am sure you can imagine how intimidating the man is. Before the show even started, I decide to go speak with Wesley. As I approach him, he is waving to no one on the other side of the room. I simply ask Wesley if he is going to play my personal favorite, "Cut the Mullet." After banging his head several times with his closed fist he mutters to me, "Fuck the mullet," and something about how he is tired of playing old songs. He clearly tells me he is only gonna play new songs. At this point I am thinking great, five minutes after my arrival, and I have already pissed off the headliner.

The first band up was Micromagnesia. This indie rock band started the show off on a good note. They were cool. The second band was Chico's own, The Pawns. They were punk rock. They took care of business. The third band was Pezz; they rocked. They had a groovy punk rock style. The crowd was defiantly getting down to the tunes pumped out by Pezz. The one problem I did have with the show was with the band Pezz. Now don't get me wrong, they rocked, no two ways about it. But the lead guitarist has the Dedication Disease, as in before every other song he would yell in the mic, "this song goes out to the people who do this, but don't do that, and who do this…" I mean goddamn! To quote MURS, "Make good music and shut the fuck up!"

Last up was Wesley Willis. He walked up to the stage and sat down with his keyboard, microphone, and his book of rhymes. He then made the public statement that he would not play any of his old songs. At that point in time some knucklehead from the crowd yelled out, "Eazy-E." This angered Mr. Willis. As a result of this comment, Wesley screamed, "Fuck Easy-E!" and then proceeded to bang the microphone against the side of his head.

Several minutes passed where Wesley was just sitting on stage with a big old frown. After some time he started up again, and pumped out some dynamite new material such as "Stop Driving Like an Asshole," "Suck my Girlfriend's Cock," "Suck a Moose's Dick." He closed his set with "Get that Cheetah's Dick Sucked." Naturally, Wesley ended every song with, "Rock over London, rock on Chico, California."

Overall the show was good. Wesley didn't seem to be in the greatest mood throughout the show, but he did put in an excellent set.

Final comment on the show, he pulled a kid out of the audience to bang heads with. If that's not what rock 'n' roll is about, then I don't know what is.
