CRUNK!!! I honestly can’t think of a better way to start out the review for the last Thug E. Fresh show in Chico, CA.The show was so fucking off the hook; there is no feasible way for any hating, whatsoever. This is the end of a generation in Chico, the crunkness known as Thuggy World will no longer exist. A lot of people, myself included, owe a lot to Thug E. for the things he has contributed to Chico. I don’t know how we can repay him, but by trying to describe the level of crunkness that was felt inside Duffy’s is a start.
The show opened up with DJ Toh on the tables. Being a dope DJ, Toh did what he does, mixing those fucking records like no other. Toh’s mixes come off cleaner and fresher than most of your radio DJs, who do their shit in advance. Believe it.
Next up was the soon-to-be famous duo of Eddie K and Z-Man, aka E-Z. The two jumped on stage, got everyone’s attention and proceeded to get on gurp, while simultaneously putting on a dope show. The duo played a variety of tracks, including quite a few from Z’s Dope or Dogfood. The crowd favorite seemed to be “White Girls With Ass,” where the first two rows of ladies turned around to fulfill Z-Man’s love for white girl booty. With control of the crowd, E-Z got the energy level exactly where is needed to be for the last Thug E. Fresh show in Chico.
Up last were headliners, Six Feet Deep, minus DJ G-Pek. Filling in for G-Pek was DJ Facials, who delivered more than just the money shot. Being Thuggy’s last show, everyone got hella drunk, just the way he would want it. Fay Dog and Thug E. played all the classics along with two new joints including, “College Girls.” In classic Rancher fashion, I don’t remember much of the details of the show, especially the later it got. I remember seeing a lot of my rellies, and everyone having a shit load of fun. And I remember Fay and Thuggy having fat smiles on their faces. Aside from a purse fiasco, everything was cool and crunk, a good time had by all.
There is no doubt Chico won’t be the same without Champmantown’s finest MC. We all wish the best for him in the future. You will be missed by many, Thuggy.
