Reach the Sky

Friends, Lies and the End of the World

Editor's Review:

This is not your average Victory record — there is a certain element of art and sentiment that you wouldn’t expect. They sound like Victory artists, heavy guitars, pounding drums and sing along choruses, but I had no idea that the lyrical content would run as deep as it does. The songs deal primarily with longing and despair. In a scene where it could be considered weak to show so much emotion, these guys took a huge risk and it paid off in an album that is profoundly sad, but somehow uplifting. I like it more every time I listen to it. I’m sure that it sucks to deal with all of the complex emotions the lyricist seems to have to endure, but it makes for great entertainment.
