Distorted Lullabies

Editor's Review:

Do you like Pearl Jam? You’ll like this…lead singer Jimmy Gnecco’s emotive and searing voice haunts you throughout each song, twisting and turning in pure, unadulterated sadness. Yes folks, it’s true, sad songs say so much, especially on Distorted Lullabies. The band is tight and balanced, and sounds are fresh and so rough that they’re smooth — but Gnecco’s voice is the clincher. He swoons with falsetto and howls with agony. Lyrically, they pass the test — nothing too new and you’ll feel like maybe, somewhere, you heard that song before, maybe in the early ‘90s, but they’re all new. The opener, "Fallen Souls," rocks out hard and sets the tone for the album, and then songs like "Here Is The Light" and "Miseryhead" make you feel like Gnecco has allowed you to see the deepest part of his soul.
