Mix Master Mike

Spin Psycle

Editor's Review:

Since his debut solo release, Anti-Theft Device, and coinciding world tour as the Beastie Boys’ DJ, Mix Master Mike has been known as a next level vinyl tweaker of the highest caliber. With the release of Spin Psycle, Mike will surely be additionally known as a fine mix tape artist. This 63-minute album is a blend of music from other artists like BS2000, Freddie Foxx, Encore and the Cali Agents — all with Mike’s special flavor mixed in on top — as well as cut sessions featuring Mike and guests, like Mario C and fellow Invisibl Skratch Piklz DJ, Q-Bert. Of particular interest are the Gang Starr cut, "Now You’re Mine," Mass Influence’s "Analyze" and Porn Theater Ushers’ "Me and Him."
