Incubus

Morning View

Editor's Review:

From the guys who got funky with S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and rocked with Make Yourself we are now blessed with Morning View, another volume in the growth of Incubus from young, surly whippersnappers into thoughtful, worldly adults. This disc includes some of the strong points from their previous efforts; vocalist Brandon Boyd's gripping lyrics sung in his fluid, driven style, are the backbone, while guitarist Mike Einziger's axe-work gets more refined and has some Eastern (as in Far East) styling. "Aqueous Transmission" is evidence of this, a meandering track that really showcases the new Incubus of 2001 - less metal, more grown-up.
