Busta Rhymes

Genesis

Editor's Review:

Busta's back, but will you forgive his recent venture into the softer side of hip-hop (e.g., that sidekick gig with Janet)? To entice you, Genesis delivers 22 tracks laced with the technically accomplished beats we've come to expect from the Flipmode crew and - obviously influenced by hugely successful West Coast gangsta shit of the late '90s - decidedly harder lyrics, a Dr. Dre cameo and sampling of the likes of Curtis Mayfield. Though you may not be listening to it next year, in this weak hip-hop market, Genesis' 22 tracks offer enough value to warrant the cost of a new CD. Be sure to check out the "Betta Stay up in Your House," cut with Rah Digga.
