Bionic Jive

Armageddon Through Your Speaker

Editor's Review:

On the surface, Bionic Jive may appear to be nothing more than just another rap-rock-metal band. However, upon closer examination it becomes clear that this quintet is much more ambitious in terms of songwriting than many of their contemporaries. Their lyrics contain the usual references to bitches and blunts, but are also glazed over with political speak and social commentary. "I Shot Lucifer" is a good representation of Bionic Jive's overall style. This includes catchy riffs and deceptively simple drumbeats, which provide a backdrop for a tag team style of vocal delivery. When all's said and done, Armageddon Through Your Speaker feels a bit off target. Nevertheless, these guys should be commended for at least aiming for a bulls-eye.
