Dashboard Confessional, although demonized by emo-purists and cynical rockers, is nevertheless both innovative and inspirational. Chris Carraba (formerly of Further Seems Forever) writes love songs the way they were meant to be; desperate, aching and full of joyful sadness. The four songs included on So Impossible are all trademark Dashboard: Acoustic guitars, alternating whisper / wailing vocals, and emo lyrics. No distortion or drums or even bass here, and thank god; these songs function best in simplicity. If you want to be happy about being sad, or want to make somebody love you, buy this CD.
