Slick Shoes

Slick Shoes

Editor's Review:

Slick Shoes, an Orange County based punk rock band whose name refers to a line of dialogue uttered by Data in The Goonies, have released their fourth full-length album on Tooth & Nail Records. A self-titled affair with a dozen tracks, it has a pop sensibility not unlike that of Blink 182. Catchy melodies abound throughout, as evidenced in the layered vocals of "No More Words." They croon about love and longing for the majority of the record, treading a fine line between heartfelt lyrics and sappy sentimentality. The album's main weakness, though, lays in its monotony - too many tracks sound alike.
