Seether

Disclaimer

Editor's Review:

Formerly known as Saron Gas, Seether, a three-piece from South Africa makes its U.S. debut with Disclaimer. The album features a sound that's too loud to be rock but not quite hard enough to be metal, which seems to be all too common right now. Seether is as indistinguishable from Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback and Creed as those bands are from each other. Songs range from the sappy, lighter-raising ballad, "Broken," to mid-tempo anthem, "69 Tea," to heavier, screaming numbers like "Your Bore." "Bore" being the key word because Disclaimer put me to sleep. Singer / songwriter Shaun Morgan doesn't bring anything new or inspiring, vocally or musically, to a table that's already too full.
