Hatebreed

Perseverance

Editor's Review:

Hatebreed's Perseverance is the musical equivalent to a punch in the nose and a manifesto on how to be a hardcore bad ass with songs titled "Remain Nameless" and "Smash Your Enemies." The lyrics provide pearls of wisdom like "Pure strength through solitude / Discipline and determination" from the title track and sound advice such as "Hold on to the hate that has helped you stay focused" from "You're Never Alone." Vocalist Jamey Jasta yells about struggles and hardships over the brutal chugging of Lou "Boulder" Richards and Sean Martin on guitars and drummer Matt Byrne's double-bass assault. With only one song that cracks the three-minute mark, this is the perfect album to listen to if you're pissed off and in a hurry.
