Finch

What It Is To Burn

Editor's Review:

While this six-man group's sound is slightly reminiscent of the tight guitar, superb vocals and refreshing new rock vibe of other Drive-Thru bands like New Found Glory and Fenix TX, Finch's rap-rock tracks are layered with digital synthesizers and lead the band down the emo-agro-rock route with violent spurts of energy. Finch's personal, non-political messages are enveloped with love and pain, marked by simple rhythms and melodies that casually diversify from song to song. "Ender" is gradual, starting much like a ballad; the tempo picks up as the increasingly furious guitar chords deviate from the song's previous steadiness. Both agro-rock and new school fans might find Finch an interesting addition to their collection, though be warned: The thick digital programming enhances Finch's already modern edge, accentuating the fast bass lines and a fluctuating percussion.
