Def Jux Presents II
Editor's Review:
For nearly six years El Producto has been the "Top Pimp" in the underground
hip-hop game. In the past, with Rawkus and now Definitive Jux, El has fronted
the most consistently jocked stable of underground hip-hop artists in the world.
Def Jux Presents II is just going to further prove the point that Mr.
Producto is going to be on top for a while longer. Showcasing new and proven
talent DJP II features solid tracks from Aesop Rock, El Producto, The
Weathermen (Can Ox, Mr. Lif, & Murs). As well as stand out tracks from lesser-known
Def Jux artists, mainly Masai Bey and Camu Tao who rips it the way dope MCs
should on a track called "Hold The Floor." But, it is a compilation
so some tracks pull more weight than others. My only complaint is that there
isn't enough from West Coast Living Legend rhyme slayer Murs, but it's still
worth having.

Bio[+]This Boston native is one of the independent rap game's most dissonant MCs, a lyrical burner who spits clever and jumpin' rhymes of a sociopolitical nature. As a member of the Definitive Jux label roster, Lif is in good company with El P, Cannibal Ox, Aesop Rock and more, and Lif's 2002 release, Emergency Rations just might be rap's definitive commentary on life in the millennium-to-date.
