NOGOODNIX

NOGOODNIX

Editor's Review:

The sound is quickening. This local band hits straight ahead with a traditional punk four-piece amalgamation. Definitely tight and fast, verging on the rapidity of the Descendents or DK. From "Skeptic Tank" to "Sickly Sea Stained" the only lulls are the breaks between the tracks. The ferocious pace climaxes in "Jenny" and "Father of the Year" with string breaking chord progressions, snapping drum changes and vocals that are only slightly comprehensible. That must be why they inserted the lyrics, which upon closer translation contain a political edge. The lyrics comprising "Homeless Joe" and "Land of Poverty" originate from an aggravated realist perception. Speed, politics, and a smidgen of anger bake in your CD player to produce punk rock monkey bread that instantly gratifies. Yummy, punk is good.
