Glassjaw

Worship and Tribute

Editor's Review:

Cast as the post-emo Mike Patton, Glassjaw vocalist Daryl Palumbo successfully lives up to his predecessor's standard on Worship and Tribute. Like Paulmbo, the band as a whole is equally comfortable alternating between dirge-ish death squall and jazzy interludes. The Ross Robinson production accentuates the former, lending Worship a slightly more "core" feel than the band might deserve, but also providing a radio-friendly sharpness that is not altogether unpleasant. Lyrically, musically and sonically, Worship is the real deal, solidifying Glassjaw a spot on the short-list of "next big things."
