Tsunami Bomb

The Ultimate Escape

Editor's Review:

According to the band's official Web site (www.tsunamibomb.com), little information is known about Tsunami Bomb's enigmatic frontwoman Agent M, whose real name is classified. All I know is that agant M and her band both rock pretty fucking hard. The Ultimate Escape is Tsunami Bomb's full-length debut on the Vandals' Kung Fu Records. The music seems to lean toward a variety of influences, from the dark punk / new wave sound of "Take the Reigns," to bouncy power-pop songs like "Roundabout" to the hardcore punk of "Top 40 Hit." M's vocals come through strong no matter what form the music takes. Shouted male backing vocals augment her sharp, sparkling singing voice and create a strong contrast, especially on "Russian Roulette" - all in all, an impressive, high-energy debut.
