Devin the Dude

Just Tryin’ Ta Live

Editor's Review:

Finally!!! It's here. I have been fiendin' for Devin's follow up to the 1998 classic The Dude like a tweaker in a trailer park with no rock to smoke. Now I'm high as Robert Downey Jr. passed out in a booth at the Viper Room. Go buy this record, call up your boys (tell them to go buy it too), have them bring over a bag of your favorite herbs and enough drank for everybody. Once the room is full of smoke and your cheeks are nice and rosy from the booze, put on Just Tryin' Ta Live. A classic from the first listen, your neck will begin to sway from side to side, you'll smile when Devin drops comedic rhymes that are not only funny, but true to your own life. You'll feel relaxed, you'll chill out, you won't have a care in the world. When the CD is over you'll go out and party all night, get your groove on and drop some of the flyest game you ever spit to the prettiest girl at the party. Then you'll bring her back to your pad for a late night session. Barely able to walk, you'll put on the Devin record again and she'll be feeling it too, all of the sudden the room gets hazy and you wake up in the morning butt naked wondering what happened; the girl is gone and so is your Just Tryin' Ta Live CD. So what do you do? Yup. You call your boys and do the whole thing all over again.
