Dropkick Murphys

Live On St. Patrick’s Day

Editor's Review:

Although not particularly a fan of the Dropkick Murphys' music - kind of a Flogging Molly meets Swingin' Utters new old-school punk sound - I will say that the times I've seen Dropkick live have been genuinely entertaining. Live On St. Patrick's Day is a faithful representation of the Dropkick live experience; the crowd shouting along with every hollered Al Barr lyric, the bagpipes and mandolin augmenting the chugging punk guitars, all set to a frenzied pace. Dropkick favorites like "Boys On The Docks" and "Gang's All Here" are in many ways more engaging in the live setting than their respective studio versions, making Live On St. Patrick's Day a must-have for serious Dropkick fans, and a maybe for curious Irish-punk neophytes.
