Editor's Review:

The viability of the drums / guitar duo format has, of course, been proven by media darlings The White Stripes. But whereas The White Stripes, and other preceding rock duos like Local H, chose to remain safely within the confines of basic pop-rock, The Americas take the duo to a more experimental and vastly more interesting level on Rinds Of Glory. "The Grueling Task of Chicken Wire," from its vague beginning, to its extended and beautifully cacophonous elaborations, to its disjointed lyrical musings, tastefully exaggerated drumming and accordion enhanced outro - is proof positive that successful melodic and formulaic indie rock experimentalism only takes two.
