Lifesavas

What If It's True / Hello Hi Hey 12"

Editor's Review:

It almost seems as if by this 12-inch, the LifeSavas are giving their listeners an option. One option would be to dance, vibe or nod one's head to the party-rockable beats. The alternative option would be to take in the conscious opinions and advice the LifeSavas drop. Or maybe even if you're an advanced listener you can think about what they are saying, and get your groove on at the same time. The A-side, "What If It's True," is the more pop track of the two and will probably revive your shower-singing career. The flipside, "Hello Hi Hey," is more on the reality check fun style of hip-hop. The track reminds me very much of De La's classic, "Ego Trip." The LifeSavas are a talented bunch that are more than likely going to draw some comparisons to J5 because of their positive hip-hop style. However, I think of the LifeSavas as more creative, both lyrically and beat-wise.
