Cage, Camu Tao

Night Hawks

Editor's Review:

Eastern Conference Records pumps out another solid release with a collaborative effort from rappers Cage and Camu Tao. Night Hawks is a concept album featuring tales from dirty cops and robbers in none other than New York City. Camu Tao and DJ Mighty Mi are responsible for all of the production, which comes off as acceptable, yet not excellent. And the same could be said about the raps. Although Cage and Camu Tao are two of the most gifted, up-and-coming rappers, some of the raps on Night Hawks seem to come off as stale. It's supposed to be a concept album about cops and robbers, but some of it comes off sounding like feeble thug rap. That's weak.
