Iron Maiden: Rock in Rio

Editor's Review:

Rock in Rio, the event from which this DVD takes its name, is billed as the largest music festival in the world, and that's hard to argue with roughly a quarter of a million people in attendance. The massive audience chanted ominously in cult-like unison and pushed forward with fists raised as Iron Maiden took the stage and began their two-hour set. Three guitars battled over the galloping rhythms provided by Steve Harris on bass and Nicko McBrain on drums, and frontman Bruce Dickinson ran, jumped and belted out epic lyrics full of angels, demons and various other supernatural entities in his signature, dramatic style. The energy of the concert, both from the crowd and stage, was extremely well-preserved thanks to 18 cameras and powerful 5.1 audio. That wicked devil music has never sounded so good. The second disc features interviews with band members, documentary footage and photos of Maiden on their South American tour.
