Yeah dude, like totally get out the twelver of Keystone Light, bro, and we can totally just chill and watch the new John Mayer DVD. You know the "run through the halls of my high school" guy? Seriously, though the frayed rim of my orange American Eagle Outfitters ballcap has been quavering in anticipation of this first live offering from the frog-mouthed Eddie Munster of rock 'n' roll. Full of unflattering closeup shots and nearly delirious between-songs banter, I was both mesmerized and horrified by the cheesiness. I love this stuff. For real, John Mayer is one of the best songwriters we've got these days, but this live and overproduced ear candy doesn't do him justice. Instead, get the old acoustic stuff; that's where he really shines.
