Zion I

Deep Water Slang v2.0

Editor's Review:

Zion I is so dope, and so slept on it makes me wonder if good hip-hop will really ever get embraced. Their first album, Mind Over Matter, is an underground classic, and Deep Water Slang picks up right where the last one left off. The result of the three-year hiatus between albums proves that patience is a virtue. Those who waited are rewarded with no filler tracks, and a constant flow of energy that injects the ears with pure bliss. Producer Amp Live creates a mood so beautifully that the deepest parts of the soul become exposed, a feeling that is rare in any form of music. This album will probably only get love in the West, and it’s a shame because Zion I is really doing it.
