Trapt

Trapt

Editor's Review:

Since its release in November of 2002, Trapt’s Warner Brothers debut has been making waves, reaching number one on Billboard’s Heatseeker chart and producing a popular lead single, “Headstrong.” Remarkably enough, the album’s remaining 10 tracks are equally appealing, if not more so. While the band never strays far from the hard rocking, mid-tempo anthem format, each song does have its own distinct personality. From the oscillating guitar dirge of “Made of Glass” to the intimate, acoustic aesthetic of “Stories,” Trapt mixes it up just enough to keep things interesting. Unlike many other albums in this genre, Trapt is refreshingly stripped down in comparsion. Though the production is slick, it allows the songs room to breathe, augmenting their clever nuances instead of suffocating them.
