Linkin Park

Meteora

Editor's Review:

Linkin Park has created what is probably the most seamless blend to metal and hip-hop to date. Their latest release, Meteora, stands as proof that Hybrid Theory (their 14-times-platinum debut release) wasn’t just a fluke. Named after a series of rock formations in Greece, the album moves furiously through 13 tracks, clocking in at just under 37 minutes. Its brilliant sonic landscape is built on intelligent song structures and captivating melodic hooks that carry the competing vocals of Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda perfectly. Every track on the CD is an affective mix of aggression and intimacy that makes the artistic drive of the band glaringly obvious. Meteora is truly one of the best heavy albums to come out in recent years. If you don’t already own it, look seriously into fixing that problem.
