Pete Yorn

Day I Forgot

Editor's Review:

It’s refreshing to know that there are still artists around today who can pull off a neo-John Mellencamp vibe. Pete Yorn’s latest offering displays the classic singer / songwriter approach as Yorn once again plays almost every instrument on the album. Intricate guitar work and spot-on drumming accent this poignant release, which also features guest appearances by rock’s reigning drum wizard Josh Freese and R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck. If you’re expecting an entirely different sounding album than 2001’s Music for the Morning After, you may be disappointed, but Yorn’s talent is undeniable and serves as a reminder that to write pristine rock songs, it only takes one. If you are easily drawn to artists who have “rock star” written all over them, grab this disc immediately.
