Fall Out Boy

Take This To Your Grave

Editor's Review:

For a band to travel down the oft-trodden path of slick production and watered down song structures in this day and age is not altogether surprising. Fall Out Boy boasts a lineup of teenagers who sound as if they haven’t quite found their place. Bitter lyrics jump out from the music but fail to save the disc from being a stale parody of trendy pop music. With track titles like “Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over With,” the band depicts a longing to be seen as self-loathing, angst-ridden rockers, and they almost pull it off. If run-of-the-mill packaged punk rock is your bag, then you will be pleased with this release. Otherwise, it will find its way in and out of your discman fairly quickly.
