NOFX

Regaining Unconsciousness

Editor's Review:

This 4 song EP finds NOFX — the reigning elder statesmen of horse-gallop-drumbeat new school — expanding on their increasingly layered brand of pop-punk, and increasingly pointed political barbs. “Medio-core” is both a lyrical and musical lesson that the legions of knock-offs that have followed in NOFX’s footsteps would do well to learn. The rest of the album follows suit. NOFX has definitely mellowed with age, but their music does not suffer for it. If Regaining Unconsciousness is any indication, the best is yet to come.
