Chico Rap Shit

Editor's Review:

With Chico Rap Shit, Six Feet Deep — the notorious three-man Chico crew — steps with a somewhat lo-fi approach to the rap game. What they’ve created is basically a hip-hop album that will appeal to even those who don’t like hip-hop music. The beats are simple and skeletal, but bang where they need to, while the flow and lyrical style nod heavily to the old school, yet come off as timeless through their subject matter. Shit, rhymes about wine, women and song will always remain true anthems in the world of Gurp City, California. Perhaps this is where and why the album really succeeds; Six Feet Deep bring it real with little bragging and no pretension, just a true for-the-love-of-it, say what you know vibe. Word.
