Good Riddance

Bound By Ties of Blood and Affection

Editor's Review:

At times, it’s difficult to tell whether Good Riddance is one of the best punk rock bands around, or one of the best melodic hardcore bands to ever play. Yet within the stigma lies a fertile forum for political musings, as well as metaphorical love stories care of frontman Russ Rankin. Long revered for their outstanding live shows and spit-in-your-eye attitude, the group conveys an image of a hopeful tomorrow and an overwhelming desire for change. Though the entire Fat Wreck Chords sound has, at times, become stale and stagnant, one listen to a track like “Up The Affiliate” will prove to suppress those assumptions and instead favor a bright new direction for the listener to indulge in.
