John Mayer

Heavier Things

Editor's Review:

John Mayer is back with a new studio effort sure to make all of the teenage girls swoon and all of the teenage guys pretend that they don’t like it as they sign up for guitar lessons. Through 10 tracks of intricate six-string work, unusually clever lyrics and decidedly smooth vocals, he proves once again that he has what it takes to stay on top of a music industry that rarely sees artists get a chance at a second single these days, much less a successful sophomore album. Tracks that stand out include the current hit single, “Bigger Than My Body” and “Wheel” and well, just about the entire rest of the album. If you are a fan of Mr. Mayer’s previous work, you shouldn’t think twice about picking up this album.
