Something Corporate

North

Editor's Review:

Although they fraternize with, dress like and musically resemble the new school punkers and fellow Drive-Thru Records acts like New Found Glory, The Starting Line, Homegrown, etc., Something Corporate are something different. Frontman Andrew McMahon’s piano and creamy vocals make Something Corporate nothing if not power pop for the Blink-182 generation; imagine Third Eye Blind with an Orange County tan, flip-flops and bleach tips. Not to say that there’s anything wrong with that. If anything, Something Corporate’s radio-driven honesty, their liberation of pop from its hyphenated relationship with punk is refreshing. Your mom will probably dig it just as much as you. File under new school piano power pop.
