J-Live

Always Will Be EP

Editor's Review:

Any rap fan who claims that their favorite MC is the master of working with words needs to shut up for a second and listen to J-Live. This Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, native is constantly trying to prove to fickle fans and money-hungry labels that he is indeed, one of the best rappers struggling to stay in the game. This EP is a follow-up to the Always Has Been EP, a collection of classic and hard-to-find J-Live joints. This EP features the J-Live flavor fans have come to know and love, including J’s abilities both on the mic and on and the production boards. Check out the pensive and chill but determined “Deal Widit,” hip-hop for the sake of hip-hop on “Walkman Music,” and the cleverly allegorical tale, “Car Trouble,” about getting by in the record business as told by a cab driver. Contribute to the growth of honest hip-hop — stop sleeping on J-Live.
