Peanut Butter Wolf

Big Shots

Editor's Review:

Sadly, Charizma was tragically killed in 1993, and his friend and artistic partner Peanut Butter Wolf was left with tapes of music captured between 1991 and ‘93. Bootlegged versions of the infectiously bouncy “Red Light Green Light,” which was released as a cassette single, became a staple of Internet traders, but other than that, this music has been waiting to see the light of day for 10 years. It’s about time. Every single one of these beats is a bona fide head-nodding ass-shaker, and Charizma is a rapper the likes of which is a rare find in today’s hip-hop climate. From the impressive off-the-top flow of “My World Premier,” to the smooth and deep-kickin’ “Methods,” to the frenzied vibe of “Tell You Something,” Big Shots is the kind of record that rappers, DJs and rap fans need to be more aware of. This is the real shit and you’re a sucker if you don’t get this. There, I said it.
