Fuel

Natural Selection

Editor's Review:

Fuel is back with another solid studio album. Musically direct, lyrically inventive and unquestionably driven by the distinctly rough vocals of Brett Scallions, Natural Selection stands out paradoxically because of the fact that it doesn’t try to. In an industry bent on merging every possible genre of music into one big corporate dung heap of sound, it’s nice to see that at least one band is sticking to their guns. Does this mean that there isn’t anything electronic on the album? No, but Natural Selection still manages to sound like a straightforward rock record. Stronger tracks include “Running Away,” “Million Miles” and the current single “Falls On Me.” If you want to hear some rock done the way it was meant to be done, Fuel’s newest release would be the natural selection.
