Michael Jackson

Number Ones

Editor's Review:

Even though the beleaguered king of pop has some problems right now, you liked him back when you were little, right? Well, that’s the reasoning behind the release of Number Ones, a DVD featuring all the best Michael Jackson videos to date. And of course, even though everyone knows it’s blatant last-minute damage control, yes, it’s good. In true Jackson fashion, it is fraught with humble thanks and disclaimers, but it’s also packed with days of bad ass dance sequences that will make you wish you took lessons in breakdancing instead of the friggin’ piano. Watch Jacko evolve career-wise, and cosmetically, from the super-primitive “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” (1979) to “You Rock My World” (2001). Most Killer Choreography: “Bad.” Most ’80s Style: “Beat It.” Best Boogieing Zombies: “Thriller,” of course.
