Brain In A Cage

Brain In a Cage

Editor's Review:

The term ‘metal’ used to encompass such things as brutal aggression through double-kick drum beats, deafening distorted crunches and guttural, you’ll-feel-that-in-the-morning screams; the association to the aforementioned musical characteristics have been all but raped by a certain hyphenated and umlauted prefix. Yet, hope remains. With their debut self-titled release, Chico, California’s Brain In a Cage comes equipped with the mindset, tightness and all-out fury of the metal bands of yore. At their softest, their melodic interludes recall Incubus at their heaviest; but their strength lays in their ability to throw down the classic thrash in a churning maelstrom of all that is thick and heavy. These guys are on to something.
