Mushroomhead

XIII

Editor's Review:

If you find yourself having a day where even little puppies piss you off, you should pop in Mushroomhead’s latest release, XIII, and just sink into your unhealthy rage. For nearly a decade now, the octet has been serving up their particular brand of chaotic metal and building an army of dedicated followers. For the uninitiated, expect nothing less than a brutal assault on your eardrums that will leave you in a state of perpetual shock — first from the sheer force of the music, and then from the unexpected depth you will eventually come to recognize in its creation. Standout tracks from XIII include “Sun Doesn’t Rise” and “Mother Machine Gun.” Basically, if you are a fan of the hard and heavy, XIII should not be an album to find yourself without.
