Statistics

Leave Your Name

Editor's Review:

The full-length debut from Desaparecidos frontman Denver Dalley as his synth-rock alter-ego Statistics is not exactly what you would expect from the institution that is the Omaha/Saddle Creek Records rock scene. Gone are the oh-so-precious warblings and high school journal poetry of Desaparecidos and Bright Eyes poster boy Conor Oberst, now replaced by Dalley's upbeat power-pop songwriting and overly corny lyrics. Statistics is something akin to an indie-rock version of the All-American Rejects, and is to its fellow Omaha bands what Reggie and the Full Effect is to the Get Up Kids: a much needed jolt of accessible, cornball rock to counter the increasingly pretentious Omaha scene.
