X-ecutioners

Revolutions

Editor's Review:

Roc Raida, Total Eclipse and Rob Swift are to turntablism what the Rolling Stones are to rock ‘n’ roll: unfuckwitable. No other group has done more for the advancement of scratching than the X-Ecutioners, and that is why when they do an album, everyone from Rob Zombie to Fat Joe get down with the project. Revolutions is their second major label release, and while hardcore scratch heads may be quick to diss the pop feel to the album, one cannot deny their skills. With 18 tracks, five are strictly turntables, and the rest feature a slew of rappers, and even an odd combination of Slug and rocker Josey Scott. Yeah, some of it is on some bullshit, but those moments can be counted on the two fingers it takes to say “fuck you,” ‘cause the gods are getting paid.
