Old Time Relijun

Lost Light

Editor's Review:

At first listen, Lost Light appears to be the recording of a schizophrenic fronting an inebriated Doors cover band, but only at first listen. Upon further inspection, you’ll find that the album includes an abundance of vitriolic vocals and even more off-key guitar strums, all backed by a refined experimental optimism via an insanely monotonous delivery. While most of the tunes on this disc are a subtle reminder of early Velvet Underground tunes, there are some pleasant surprises. Consider the profound eccentricity found on “This Kettle Contains the Heart,” a scathing track that seems to lose itself under its own potential, only to emerge in the end as the most innovative of the bunch.
