The Human Element
Editor's Review:
Some argue that beatboxing is the fifth element of hip-hop; I would say that smoking blunts is, but what do I know? I got popped my first time bombing. What isn’t up for debate, though, is that when done properly, beatboxing is like some God-sent talent that exceeds what normal people are capable of. The Human Element is the first album dedicated solely to the orchestrators of mouth music, and while it neglects some of the greats like Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh and Buffy from the Fat Boys (RIP), it does give listeners an idea of just how much you can do with your mouth. Thanks to either a rapper or a sampler, the sounds don’t play themselves out, and the result is hip-hop in its rawest form.– Corey Bloom
