Eminem

Encore

Editor's Review:

Listening to Eminem's latest release, Encore, left me wondering: when is Eminem going to grow up? Lying among the numerous farts, burps, bowel movements and references to his "pee-pee" that are annoyingly strewn though out his album, is the surprisingly mature and honest, "Like Toy Solders," where he addresses the stupidity of his beef with Benzino and The Source rumors that almost brought him down. On the heartfelt "Mockingbird," a song to his daughter, he apologizes for everything she has had to deal with. He even explores all that saccharin-sweet love stuff on "Love You More" and "Crazy in Love," where he relates the turmoil of being in a relationship. Surprise, surprise, 50 Cent is all over the album, along with Nate Dogg on "Never Enough" and Dr. Dre on "Encore," which end up being the best cuts on the release. Now if Em could just get over all the fourth-grade pull my finger jokes, we might not have to skip though half of the CD.
