Genocide in Sudan

Editor's Review:

While most of the United States keeps hurdling mud over "Operation: Iraqi Freedom," it's nice to know that some haven't turned a blind eye to the inhumanity taking place in Sudan. With a diverse mix of artists, Genocide in Sudan has something for almost everyone, and it's for a good cause, too! System of a Down start off the disc with their trademark metal sound in "NÜGUNS." Danger Mouse & Murs contribute "Paint By Numbers," an introspective track comparing America's problems to overseas struggles. This compilation skips from hardcore punk (Rise Against) to Latin electro-jazz (Kinky). Even Yoko Ono manages to make an appearance in the beautiful "Shiranakatta (I Didn't Know)," remixed by Craig Armstrong. If such an eclectic disc doesn't reel you in, then certainly the depressing CD cover will.
