Shadows Fall

The War Within

Editor's Review:

If you’re into heavy music and you still haven’t checked out Shadows Fall’s latest release, The War Within, you are severely selling yourself short. Complete with classical guitar intros on the first and last tracks (very Metallica Master of Puppets), blazing guitar solos, and double-kick drumming that will make your head spin, this album has what it takes to cement Shadows Fall as a rising force in The New Wave of American Heavy Metal. A standout track was “Act of Contrition,” which has a breakdown chorus that I’ve been using to jumpstart my mornings ever since I heard it. Oh yeah, did I mention this record comes with a free DVD featuring guitar and drum lessons from the band? Kick Ass!
