Spitalfield

Stop Doing Bad Things

Editor's Review:

What Spitalfield needs is an unmarked grave and a good alibi, because they would be better if their singer were to somehow…disappear. Of course, this is true for 90 percent of all emo bands, but then they wouldn’t really be very emo, would they? Digressing, should you, music fan, buy Stop Doing Bad Things? If you love emo or rock with a strong melodic focus, then sure. The drumming is solid and creates a growing sense of anticipation during the building moments of “Texa$ with a Dollar Sign.” The layered guitars on “Building a Better City by Design” crash with the beat and squeal in between. Too bad many songs suffer from choruses steeped in junior high cheese appeal.
