Dave Chappelle’s Block Party Soundtrack

Editor's Review:

Since my mom won't let me see R-rated movies and it's easier to buy stickered CDs anyway, I had to settle with the audio-void-visual format of Dave Chappelle's Block Party - the original soundtrack, which features all live performances seen in the movie. Throughout, I can't help but feel jealous that I wasn't there; but regardless, the soundtrack is a cool listen including notable hits from Common ("The Light"), Blackstar ("Definition") and The Roots ("You Got Me"). Erykah Badu's "Back in the Day" is my new favorite song, and Kool G Rap and Big Daddy Kane kill shit with The Roots on "Boom." If you saw the movie, I'm sure the soundtrack is even better, but if not, it's still enjoyable.
